What’s the deal with Vonage? Telemarketers Goldmine??
July 10, 2008
OK, so I have had Vonage for over a year now. Sure, it’s a steal. I have a personal home phone number and a business line as well for less than $70 a month. My old PacBell bill was well over $140/month. BUT…..I have NEVER had so many Telemarketers calling me in my life! Our phone literally rings off the hook. It is beyond annoying as well as interruptive and distracting.
Is Vonage so cheap because they sell my phone number to solicitors? What’s the deal? Ya, ya, do not call list, been there done that.
Here is the last hour:

When we signed up for comcast phone service it was the same ordeal, telemarketing gold rush. There is probably some sort of immunity from the do not call lists so everyone’s hopped on board. Ask them to take you off their list and you get more calls, like Gremlins after water.
